About RecipeKick:

RecipeKick, an Okay, Perfect brand, is a live-streamed, mostly recipe-free cooking platform reigniting the love affair between home cooks and their kitchens. Formerly the Courageous Cooking School, the RecipeKick platform boasts over 1,000 members (and growing daily!) and 15,000+ minutes of quality content. Our on-air talent lead sessions where students learn foundational techniques, flavors and principles, not rigid steps. We call it the Courageous Cooking Method and it’s all about embracing what’s seasonal and abundant, whether from the farmer’s market or your fridge. This approach helps cooks gain skills and the freedom to trust their intuition.

As we aim to make our mark on the culinary world, we’ve established the following standards and values. We’re seeking on-air talent who unequivocally can champion these values.

A recipe-free first approach: at RecipeKick we are fostering creativity not recipes. We are not an anti-recipe school alternatively, we’re a process-first experience. There are instances where we do use recipes, (baking specifically!) but we tend to approach dishes with more flexibility than a traditional recipe allows. For our members, It’s not about learning a specific recipe and then repeating that process to recreate what the instructor has made. It’s about learning to cook in a creative, intuitive way. As on-air talent you’ll receive training in the Courageous Cooking Method, our proprietary educational method.

Sustainability, sourcing and seasonality: at RecipeKick we are fanatical about sustainability and reducing as much waste as possible in the kitchen. We share sourcing tips and we focus on seasonality as much as possible. Wherever possible we offer substitutions and suggestions recognizing that one’s ability to access different types of foods is largely dependent on financial resources and physical location.

Shame-free, anti-diet, food-positive language: at RecipeKick we take a shame-free, neutral approach to food and nutrition. We do not tell our students there are “bad” foods to avoid or reference guilt about eating indulgent things. Or how “naughty” it is to have another slice of cake (spoiler, it’s not naughty, it's delightful!). There is ZERO TALK about low fat/ low cal/ low carb/ low sugar/ low ANYTHING and how these things are “healthier”. We are not offering nutrition or diet advice. Food is food. It’s wonderful, delicious and a beautiful part of life.
